Supporting Each Other

Forming your family through adoption brings with it all the usual challenges of parenting, and a few extras! Sharing friendships, insights, ideas and resources is a way of ensuring adoptive parents the support and connections they need to raise healthy, happy and resilient children. We are a group of adoptive parents who have come together to do this in Queensland.

  • 69.9% think they have higher expectations of themselves as parents because of how their family was formed
  • 52.4% said the intensity of emotion they felt on becoming parents was more than they expected
